What is OCD?
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) involves obsessions, or unwanted thoughts or images, that trigger anxiety and compulsive behaviors, or repetitive behaviors or mental acts that serve to reduce you anxiety, but ultimately provide little or only temporary relief. These obsessions and compulsions significantly impair one’s daily functioning.
In therapy we assess your symptoms and treatment needs, identify your obsessions and compulsions, examine your stuck points associated with the OCD cycle, learn new skills for coping, develop an exposure hierarchy that is comfortable to you, and perform behavioral experiments to implement treatment.
