Pronouns: she/her (what's this?)

Licensed Clinical Psychologist

Dr. Janine Castle received her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Syracuse University in 2001. She was broadly and extensively trained during her predoctoral and postdoctoral years, beginning with St. Joseph’s Outpatient Center and the Syracuse University Counseling Center. She completed an APA accredited pre-doctoral residency at Upstate Medical University in New York. This was followed by a year-long postdoctoral training at LifeSpan Psychological Services in Pennsylvania.

Upon becoming licensed, Dr. Castle began working at PENN Medicine/LGH’s Behavioral Medicine and Neuropsychology program, where she focused on chronic pain, dementia, peripartum depression and other health-related conditions.

Dr. Castle has worked for over 10 years supervising therapists in the Moving Beyond Depression program, addressing peripartum depression and anxiety in mothers participating in the Nurse Family Partnership program.

In private practice, Dr Castle provides services for clients with a wide variety of conditions including: anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, grief, peripartum depression, reproductive loss, social anxiety, OCD, phobias, functional neurological disorders and chronic pain.

In practice, Dr. Castle has a deep appreciation for the importance of being your genuine self. Having a firm base in theory and evidence-based treatments, she uses mutuality within the relationship to help clients to recognize the core beliefs that are preventing them from engaging their true selves, while also providing them with effective skills to cope with the stresses, health concerns or traumas they have faced or are currently facing. Maintaining a sincere respect for all of her clients, she joins with them in instilling hope, moving toward growth, and achieving fulfilling change.

Dr. Castle is licensed to practice in the state of Pennsylvania.
